Ilocos Tour : VIGAN

The planned long weekend getaway finally came! :)

From Manila, we took a GV Florida bus going to Laoag and got off at Bantay, Ilocos Sur (P540). We were dropped off along the road and took a tricycle going to Cafe Uno (P30).

Time for a feast! :)

Bagnet / Bulalo / Garlic Rice

After our brunch, we started our walk to Calle Crisologo to see the ever famous street with it's cobblestone road preserved. I've always wanted to roam around Ilocos and this is one of the places I'm looking forward to. Upon reaching the street, we were in awe to see that the scene we often see in pictures are finally right in front of us. We immediately took photos of the place. :)

We decided to rent a calesa to tour around vigan. Rate is P150 per hour and we were able to visit the following attractions:

Old Bell Tower
Pagburnayan Pottery

Emapanada from Hidden Garden

Baluarte
We passed to a whole lot more destinations but we decided not to get off our calesa nor take photos because the day was scorching hot. Our last stop was at Baluarte ni Chavit and we saw one usang gala! :)

White Deer came from nowhere! :)

A little over 2pm and we're off to Batac and Paoay to see more of Ilocos! We rode a tricycle from Baluarte to bus station bound for Laoag (P98). Sad thing was, rain fell just in time we reached Batac, we rode a tricycle from there and asked to take us to Marcos Museum and Maoseleum. We were the last group allowed to visit Ferdinand Marcos' waxed body before the caretaker called it a day. We were'nt able to catch the museum too. :( Rain continued to rush, this time heavier so we asked the driver to take us to bus station going to Laoag instead of pushing for Malacanang of the North and Paoay Church.
